Story
Methus is an ambitious talented sorcerer of the black magic art who decided to become a loyal follower of the unmentionable Dark Lord supporting his war versus human communities.
Unfortunately for Methus, as in the most classic fantasy stories, ...the good ones won the war versus the Dark Lord's armies.
So, the Orcs and Goblins who escaped from the slaughter want to avenge their dead buddies by killing Methus who convinced them to fight aside the Dark Lord.
Also the survived chaos knight and dark mages want their payback and they ask it to the Dark Lord's follower who is still alive.
On top of that, the winner army of the Humans Alliance wants to eradicate all the evil arms of the Dark Lord.
As a consequence our dear Methus is now besieged within his tower by enemy hordes demanding his head cut off!
He is a novice sorcerer, but as a talented necromancer he knows the power of the dead souls and he still has the Dark Lord spirit aside to teach him how to learn and upgrade the spells and rituals of the black art!
Goal
Survive all 20 game levels, keeping your tower energy barrier up and beating the enemy waves off thanks to the magic spells at your disposal.
Drain and collect the souls of the killed enemies, in order give them to the Dark Lord' spirit for gaining new spells and for upgrading their power. The collected souls are useful also to restore your tower energy barrier and to recharge your mana pool.
So, during the game, focus on killing the enemies but don't forget to drain their souls as soon as they die.

Tower magic barrier fast recovery
Each game-level generates more and more besieging waves of enemies. Between each wave you have the opportunity to get a fast recovery of the tower magic barrier. In max 15 seconds you shall decide whether to sacrifice a consistent number of souls in order to repair the tower barrier. You'll have 1 to 4 options of recovery (depending on the game-level you are playing):
10 souls for +10% barrier
25 souls for +20% barrier
50 souls for +35% barrier
100 souls for +50% barrier
These options are a lot more expensive than the normal barrier recovery option, possible at the end of the level (explained below in the "Souls use & Spells upgrade" session), but it's a important opportunity during the most difficult advanced game-levels where each single enemy wave is so dangerous to beat hardly your tower barrier.
Souls use & Spells upgrade
At the end of each completed game-level, you have the opportunity to use the collected souls for spiritually recover the damaged tower energy barrier and to increase Methus’ magic skills.

Some Suggestions
- Use keyboard shortcuts (see Main Controls session above). They increase a lot your efficiency and speed in selecting and casting the right spell at the right moment, switching them fast.
- Kill the ranged attackers (archers and mages) as soon as possible ‘cause they start shooting your tower from far, while the close combat enemies need more time to reach their target by feet.
- Collect all the souls of your dead enemies. Remember they vanish after few seconds from the death. The collected souls are the most important resource of your game, in order to learn and grow your spells, to repair your tower energy barrier and to restore your mana pool.
- Focusing on few spells at high level is often more efficient than having many low level spells.
- During the first game-levels you probably find more efficient to use only aggressive spells that directly damage your enemies, like Fireball, Acid Arrow, Lightning Bolt. Be aware that the final game-levels creates fast and numerous waves of enemies. To survive those besieging huge hordes, you’ll most probably need also special spells like: Toxic Cloud to create long-lasting deadly areas on the battlefield, Slow Bolt to slow the most dangerous enemies, Aura of Terror to scare away groups of enemies when they are too many near your tower. An intelligent use of Skeletons and Golem is also a key-strategy to create obstacles for the coming enemies: this way you engage them in useless battles against your magic slaves while you unleash you most dangerous magic attacks against their mortal bodies!
